Started in early 2008 as "The $20,000 Disney Wedding", the blog has evolved from a planning diary for our Disney wedding to a showcase for real Disney weddings and wedding events. Since the blog was born out of the idea that a Disney wedding could be held on a limited budget, we pay a lot of attention to offering money-saving tips and budget-saving strategies. In addition to sharing beautiful stories and photography from real weddings, the site strives to provide honest reviews of Disney-area vendors and helpful hints for planning these destination celebrations.
Questions and submissions for guest posts, vendor information, and real wedding spotlights may be sent to thatdisneygirl at gmail dot com. You can also connect with me through Twitter or Facebook.

Carly, Editor & Founder
I'm a lifelong Disney fan who met my husband while working at Walt Disney World on the College Program. Disney has played a central role in my life and when it was time to get married, we knew that no other place would hold a candle to a Disney Wedding. During the year we spent planning our wedding, we worked to cut corners and improvise so that we'd be able to have an amazing AND affordable wedding. On January 8, 2009, we had the most incredible wedding and I can honestly say that it was the best day of my life.
On my journey to the altar, I was introduced to a wonderful community of Disney brides planning and celebrating their weddings. Through their stories and photos, I experienced some of the most stylish, lovely, and heartfelt events I had ever seen. As our wedding came and went, I found myself wanting to share these weddings with everyone else and started posting them for my readers. Two years later, I feel lucky to run a blog that's been a source of inspiration and information for so many brides.
Offline, I live in Salt Lake City with my husband, Kyle, and our two cats, Charlie and Scout. We enjoy board games, Disney movies, and perusing used bookstores. I have a bachelor's degree in English from The University of Utah and earned my law degree from The Ohio State University. I currently work in social media as a trainer and freelance writer.
