I need your help...there's a wedding detail to be sorted out and from what I've learned, this is the best place to sort it. This time, however, it's not my wedding, but the wedding of another Disney bride and she's one of my favorites, so I'm hoping we'll find some creative answers on here...

This is Hope. Hope is getting married at Disneyland in one year and she's having the loveliest Sleeping Beauty themed wedding. Sleeping Beauty is my all-time favorite, so I've been keeping up with her wedding planning. She's got all sorts of cute stuff going on. My favorite so far has been the sweet powerpoint she made up for her bridesmaids or "bridal fairies".

As part of the Sleeping Beauty theme, Hope is pulling in some different medieval touches and one of the things that she wants to do is have a pair of pennant/banner/flag things with their family crest on them. The only problem is that Disney has priced out these custom banners at $600!
Since Hope is as budget conscious as I was, she's been looking for a cheaper alternative, even if it's DIY. Any creative ideas out there?

We have made banners like these for our church Christmas musicals. Hopefully my directions will make sense.
Print out the family crest on a transparency. Use an old school projector to enlarge the crest to the size needed on a flat wall. Tape a paper or muslin to the wall and trace away.
I prefer using the muslin because then you don't have to transfer your design on the paper to the fabric. The paper pattern works if you will be cutting pieces to make your design.
After you have your crest on the muslin paint in with fabric paints. Then make a clean cut and sew onto the banner.
Etsy would be a good resource too. A friend of mine does nursery hangings and monogrammed table runners, she is super talented and I bet she could do a painted or embroidered crest banner.
Here's her etsy store: http://www.LSeabol.etsy.com
The less creative option might be to check out your local printers. FedEx is able to print out banners... but maybe a locally run print shop would offer better prices.
Just a thought...
This is where a creative friend comes in handy! Good luck!
