~Our Home Receptions~
Our California Reception
Our Ohio Reception

Can you believe I wrote all that about one week? I think it might have taken me longer to blog about the wedding and reception than it took us to have the wedding and reception, but I will say this: write everything down as soon as you can after the wedding! There are so many things I know I would have forgotten if I hadn't taken notes and then written everything out in this blog. These recaps are better than video for me because it's like re-living the day all over again! (Yes, I'm guilty. I've read them all the way through since the wedding...twice.)

Sometimes life just needs a little Disney

It's been a rough week...but certainly nothing a little WDW couldn't cure! Since we can't escape to Florida right now, I guess I'll have to settle with doing a little time traveling and reminiscing about our incredible trip last summer.

Luckily I have our amazing engagement pictures from the Roots to help me remember!...

Benefit #230 of having a Disney wedding = being able to take that ten-minute perfect Disney vacation just by pulling up the wedding pictures (of course, it helps if your photographers are amazing...)

I love the show Unwrapped and they did a special on Walt Disney World, with a behind-the-scenes look at the Disney wedding cakes.

Hey, remember that comfort meal that I had delivered to our hotel room the night before the wedding?

Words From the Groom

I've had a lot of opportunity to share my thoughts on the wedding, but the whole circus wasn't a one-woman show. Since I was home sick yesterday, Kyle and I took the opportunity to make a short video about his thoughts on the wedding...which were much funnier than I thought they would be! I thought he was going to complain about the cost and say other typical groom things, but he actually had some pretty good insights...

Six Month Checkup

Today is our six-month anniversary, so I thought I'd do a little sum-up...

A lot of people have told me that the first year of marriage is the hardest, but I no longer think that this is true. Kyle and I are bound to have our ups and downs over the next sixty years and unless we're unbelievably lucky, there's no way this is a low point for us.

Marriage rocks. The last six months have quite honestly been the happiest six months of my life. (I know...mush...sorry...) What kills me is that we have so many things that really should be stressing us out - moving, layoffs, job searches, credit card debt, student debt, car problems, etc. - and instead we really are enjoying our nice, little life. Now that it's summer, we back to eating early dinners and then spending the evenings taking walks around our apartment complex or reading library books. We've also been getting out more on the weekends and spent the last couple of days at the art festival and swimming at a friend's house.

For future brides, I would say this. Don't be nervous about the doomsday prophecies from people who have been married. Kyle and I didn't go through a rocky adjustment period, I've never thought that getting married was a bad idea, and I didn't experience any sense of loss because the wedding planning was over. Everything has just been really happy and nice, so look forward to that first year of marriage! There's really nothing like being a newlywed...

Perk #461: being able to wear these ears in public.

I'm happy that so many people found the budget breakdown that we did for our wedding to be helpful in their own planning. I know it talked a couple of people out of having a Disney wedding, but I suppose that I shouldn't feel bad about that, since an informed decision was probably a good thing.

Disney Wedding Clip Art

I'm emptying my computer of all the weddingness and wanted to share these with you. I got these from a number of sources (mostly other Disney brides) and I thought maybe someone out there was also looking for Disney bride clip art. We used a lot of them in our newsletters and what not, so hopefully you'll be able to incorporate them into your day if you want. If not, they're just lovely to look at!
