Stevie and John's Wedding

My little sister, Stevie, got married a few weeks ago, while Kyle and I were still in Ohio. I was supposed to be in the wedding, but with all the craziness of moving we couldn't make it out there. I finally got some of the photos my cousin took, so I thought I'd share them with you all. Kyle and I were really bummed that we couldn't make it, but we were excited to see people posting pictures from the wedding on Facebook within a few hours. That's the wonderful thing about all this modern technology...you get to be there even when you couldn't be there!

(probably my favorite picture of my sibs...ever...)

I'm so happy that Stevie and John are married because they are genuinely happy together. Congrats, you guys! We love you!

Ceremony Location: Sunrise Terrace

  • The Sunrise Terrace is a patio on the fourth floor of Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort.
  • The quaint, rustic decor makes it a comfortable venue for brides who enjoy the atmosphere (and the fact that it saves them money on decorations).
  • This is a smaller venue, which can accommodate up to eight guests, making it a great choice for escape weddings.
  • Another benefit is that there is an indoor alcove which can easily be used in case of rain.
  • Couples who used the Sunrise Terrace:

Sunset Pointe

Sunset Pointe is a popular choice for Escape weddings. Located on a grassy hill overlooking Seven Seas Lagoon, Sunset Pointe has a tropical feel and is the closest thing to an authentic "beach wedding" you can get at Disney without taking a Disney Cruise and getting married on Castaway Cay.

  • The site can hold the couple and up to eight guests.
  • Due to the seasonal heat, the site may only be booked from October through March.
  • If it rains, the backup venue is either the Wedding Pavilion or the King Kamehameha suite at the Polynesian Resort, depending on availability.

I'm saving those for my other wedding...

I will have you all know that I was supposed to be done with this blog by today. It's our fourth (dating) anniversary and it's also the deadline I gave myself for wrapping up this blog and debuting the new thing that I've been working on. When I set it, I figured that this deadline might even be a little lax, since I lost my job on the last day of June and that was a month ago and MY GOD, WOMAN, how long does it take you to end a wedding blog?

Don't worry, that wasn't an introduction to the worst goodbye entry in the history of the world. As our life continues to be complicated, I haven't managed to either wrap up everything on this end or finish my new project, so we're going to continue to remain in blogging limbo until everything calms down. At this rate, we'll make it to our first wedding anniversary and then I can act like I totally meant to drag this blog out that long. You know, to really extend the celebration.
