Welcome Bags: Papers, etc.

Our welcome folders

One of the main things that usually gets included in welcome bags are papers that help the guests out, such as a welcome letter, itinerary, or map. Here are some ideas for papers (and paper-type-things) that you might want to include in your welcome bags:

  • welcome letter
  • itinerary
  • list of things to see and do
  • list of hidden mickeys
  • interesting disney facts
  • list of your favorite disney things.. His and Hers
  • list of theme park tips
  • park maps
  • map of the area
  • list of phone numbers (be sure to include local restaurants that deliver to Disney resorts)
  • luggage tags
  • Disney dollars
  • door hangers
  • paper fans
  • pen
  • autograph book
  • disney postcard with stamp
  • disney stickers
  • home made crossword or search a word
  • Disney guidebook
Remember: you don't have to put all of these things into your welcome bags! You are not solely responsible for providing everything your guests could possibly need on their vacation. Just a few things to make their trip easier and more enjoyable is a good idea. We did a welcome letter, important phone numbers, a map, and an itinerary and that worked just fine for us. I think a lot of these ideas are great, though, and they'd definitely put a smile on my face if I was a guest at a Disney wedding.

Now for the fun part...

Giveaway

Included in the giveaway is this cute Minnie Mouse post-it holder with attached Sharpie, by Etsy seller Crafty Gio. I love this because it's useful, compact, fun, and unexpected. It's one of those things that will come in handy both on the trip and once the guest goes back home and everytime they reach for a post-it, they'll remember what a great time they had at your wedding!

The giveaway also includes a set of these gorgeous postcards, designed by Etsy seller d'Marie Papeterie. One of my absolute favorite wedding bag ideas is to include a self-addressed, stamped Disney postcard so that your guests can drop you a note while they're on vacation. Isn't that a nice thing to come home to? Of course, if you don't live in Orlando or Anaheim, getting Disney postcards can be kind of a pain. I love these because they're wedding-ish, without being over the top goopy. These would also be perfect for super-quick, hand-written Save the Dates. I think hand writing your STDs can be a really, really nice touch.

I am curious what the packing envelope is used for in the welcome folders. Is that what you had your guests send the picture CD's back to you in?

Yep, it's a stamped envelope that contains a blank cd (in a case) and a note that explains that we want people to send us their digital photos and videos when they get back. We sent one to each house and I'd say we got about 70% of them back.

That's such an awesome idea! It's going on my list. :)

Great things to go in the gift basket (though I had to turn off my medical brain when you used the "STD" abbreviation - lol).
