And the Theme for the Week is...Home Events!!!

Ok, it's official. My life is just plain interfering with all of this blogging, so if I'm a little M.I.A. for the next couple of weeks, I apologize in advance. We're in the middle of moving, so all of my blogging-tools-stuff is getting squashed into boxes and my Internet connection is getting ready to pop over to another abode. Hopefully this blog won't be a compete suckfest while all of this is going on, but if it is...well, just don't say I didn't warn you...

Anyway, as further proof that my head has been on my blog business these days, I accidentally double-booked a theme for this week. I forgot that when I put International Week in at the last second, the whole rest of my blogging schedule was going to be way off. So, when two people donated giveaways for the week, I had a choice: I could either do a double-themed week (with two things that didn't really go together) or I could put it up for a vote on Facebook.

I chose Facebook vote, which started out really great...until you guys tied the vote. Nice.

So, I actually flipped a coin. Not even kidding. Heads won, which means this week's theme is...

HOME EVENTS!!!

(Yay! Woohoo! Sweet! Allright!)

I gloss over home events like bridal showers, engagement parties, and the like because I really love the big Disney weddings. This is sort of unfair, though, because a lot of the home events I've seen are just as stylish as special as the wedding day events, so I thought we'd give them their due this week. And what would a themed week be without a...

Giveaway

This week's giveaway comes to us from Party Poms and it's one of those things that's so lovely, I can't even imagine it floating into my life. It's the type of lovely that's strictly reserved for bridal teas captured in glossy coffee table books.

Nai at Party Poms makes the loveliest, delicate, decorative poms and you can get them in an incredible range of colors. You can also get them either as individuals or as these lovely pom garlands. Oh, my heart be still!

Party Poms is giving away a 3 yard Party Pom Garland to one lucky winner this week! I suppose it's a party decoration, but I'd be keeping this baby up in my house year-round. To enter the giveaway, leave a comment on this blog and tell me what I absolutely must buy for our new house...anything from furniture to house plants to a certain kind of fabric softener. (Yes, the giveaway is completely self-serving this week. Deal with it.) Remember, if you don't play, you can't win!

Good luck, everybody!

UPDATE: We have a winner!

Not sure if you have already done this but I love to get a new bed set when I move. It gives that new feeling of the room instead of your "old stuff" in a new room.

You should buy your favorite bottle of wine or champagne! That way when you're all moved in, you are ready to celebrate! :) That's what I always do- it's a nice reward once all that hard work is done!

A Set of Black-Out Curtains for your living room. Makes a great choice when you want to snuggle up and watch a movie in the dark. They also work really well on sick days when you just want to be lazy :)

I was also going to suggest a touch of Disney. I love all of the Disney kitchen accessories. I think they'd be a great addition for a new kitchen! :D

Since your cats will be stressed out from the move too you should get them a new version of their favorite toy. My cats love the cat dancer but after a month or two (depending on how much they use it) it's kind of dead -luckily it's cheap!

I think that you should buy a cute little bookshelf to display all of your journals!
