I consider sending out really intricate invitations...perhaps little boxes or some sort of pre-party favor or even individualized hand-crafted items. Since we were only inviting about 30 people, it didn't seem unreasonable to go over the top. But then I remembered three things:
- Baby Showers are supposed to be casual fun.
- Intricate invites are harder to hang on the fridge, where shower invites go so they aren't forgotten about.
- I really didn't want to hand craft 30 anything.
Enter etsy.com...and more specifically, enter SimpleSimonPrints. They have lots of fresh, fun designs that aren't fussy at all. I wanted something that was sweet (but not too sweet), happy (but not silly), and unique (but not too weird). There was a lot of super sweet baby girl stuff out there in invitation land, but I didn't see anything that I really fell in love with until I saw this one:

Isn't it darling? I thought it was perfect, since it's so cute but not too sappy. Plus, I love that the mommy and daddy owl are included, instead of just the baby, since the party was really celebrating the whole family. Plus, I really liked that it was a postcard, because it made a great, fast impression and then people could stick it up on their fridge so they wouldn't accidentally double-book. Perfection!
Not to mention...this totally fits in with the owl love I told you guys about. Love those owls, people. Love 'em.
