Amber: DIY Wedding Monogram
So after looking at PJ's ALL day..
I finally sat down and designed a monogram! I think it came out really nice and I love it!! And seeing the "J" next to my name....

I am going to use it on the front of the programs which will be a mickey head similar to this: (thanks to a DIS bride!!!)

Where else do you typically put a Monogram? Just anywhere you want? Our ceremony is going to be outside, so I probably wouldn't use a runner... but now I am in love with it, and want to put it everywhere!!
Custom Caricature Giveaway from Cameoland
I've been doing giveaways over on the baby blog (and another one starts tomorrow), but we haven't had a giveaway here on The Disney Wedding Blog in a while...too long, if you ask me! So, when I stumbled across this while browsing for art on Etsy, I got very, very excited.
Isn't it sweet? Fun and simple and personal and totally unique. The artist's shop is called Cameoland and she does all sorts of caricatures at great prices. I love this idea for save-the-dates or guest books or wedding bag labels. She even does escort cards and will do a simple caricature of each guest to take home as a keepsake. (Yay!) They're completely customizeable, so she can add in details or backgrounds that work with your love story. Adore it.
AND she's being generous enough to give away a caricature to one lucky fan, so be sure to stop by her shop and take a peek!
Giveaway
That's right, I said "fan" and not "reader" because it's the fans that are in the running for this one. I've been woefully ignoring the DWB Facebook fan page because I'm a slacker, but I thought that all of those faithful fans deserved a little recognition. So, to enter the giveaway this week, you just need to be a fan of The Disney Wedding Blog on Facebook. If you're already a fan, you're entered and there's nothing else that you have to do. If you're not a fan, you just need to hit the "like" button and you'll be all set!
Winner gets announced on Monday on the Facebook page. Good luck, friends!

Memories Collection Spotlight: Aubrey + Brent
One of the options that I love to see brides and grooms take advantage of are photography add-ons that give them the time to take a bunch of portraits around Disney property on their wedding day. Randy Chapman has a special right now for Memories Collection celebrations that lets you add a hour and a half of portrait photography to your event for only $250 or photography and video by STVS video for only $500. Aubrey + Brent took advantage of this special and got some great portraits after their luau beach ceremony:

Amber: Choosing Music
So I have been toying around with the music for the ceremony!
I think I am set with what I am going to be using!
Little Mermaid (one of my favs) Part of Your World Instrumental
(This will be playing when Thomas (DF) walks his mom and grandma down the aisle to their seats, and he will take his place at the altar, next my Brother, who is going to be my man of honor, will walk down my mom, and take his spot, and then all my groomsman will walk down as well- as mentioned before, I am having all groomsman- never was friends with many girls and our male friends are shared equally between me and DF)
Nerissa: Disneyland or Walt Disney World?
After our meeting with a Disneyland wedding specialist we knew we wanted a Disney wedding but were unsure if we wanted it to be at Disneyland or Disney World. Lucky for us we had a Disney World trip coming up so we decided to wait until after the trip before committing to a Disneyland wedding.
When we went on our trip we made a stop at the Wedding Pavilion.

| There was a brides vestibule |
The Pavilion was stunning and we really liked it but at the end of the trip we both decided that a wedding at the Disneyland Resort was for us. It works out to be more affordable since we don't have to add the cost of traveling and hotels to the wedding. Plus Disneyland is sort of like home to us. However we are still considering Disney World as our honeymoon destination!
Larisa: Doubts About the Dress
Soooo...I'm having dress doubts...Well lets start from the beginning.
I called the dress shop Tuesday. I wanted to let them know that I was gonna come up and pickup/pay off my dress. I get this message that says "this number has been temporarily disconnected." um, excuse me...what do you mean disconnected? I immediately think of those horror stories that you hear of brides who have given dress shops all this money and the store goes out of business and they have no dress and no money. So I drive up there like a mad woman. I get there and they're open, they're switching service providers...OK no big, crisis averted. I paid and went to look at shoes while the woman got my dress. She comes to get me and picks up the dress and marches straight out the door to my car. Didn't even unzip the bag so I could see it.
I get home and try it on and I don't feel the same way I did when I bought it. There's no excitement and i start thinking about how this is my only chance to wear a princess dress and I've never done it before, I'll never have the chance to do it again.
I talked to my mom about it this morning. She thinks I've just "moved on" that I more into the rest of the planning and this isn't what I'm excited about anymore(but I want to be excited about my dress). She keeps telling me its a gorgeous dress( I'm not doubting that its beautiful) and it's totally me (its very unlike her to endorse anything as "me") that even when I was looking for a dress for my first communion she wanted to put me in a poofy dress and I wanted nothing of the sort. So I'm just really puzzled right now...I'm gonna go look at other dresses tomorrow, maybe I'll cure myself. I think I might need to detach myself from it. If not there may be a dress for sale soon.
That being said here are some pictures. The back:

Amber: Asking the Groomsmen
I am actually going to have all groomsmen at my wedding. I have never had many girl friends, and Thomas and I both share the same guy friends. My brother is going to be my "man" of honor. I was trying to think of a cute way to ask them to be in our wedding, but they are guys... so a little cute card really probably won't do it for them.
I looked up a few ideas online and finally came up with a "Will you be my groomsman" type card, and added some Disney flair. I just printed it on a plain piece of white paper, and got some of those already decorated, ready made boxes and some tissue paper, and put them together. Here is one of them:

Larisa: Style Board and Save The Dates!!
I'll only have 3 Bridesmaids but I'm going to give them a choice of those 4 dresses. My lovely groom will be wearing the green bowtie as pictured, that was his choice. The groomsmen will be wearing the European style ties, cause no one is allowed to wear a bowtie like him! All the suits will be tan like the groomsmen one shown. I also plan to make my own bouquet out of preserved flowers but I want it to look something like this.
We made save the dates and sent them out. I made the tiny mickey tags...
They were so cute when they went out! I wish I took more pictures of them. The STDs took forever but they were so worth it! (and an awesome excuse to buy a cricut! LOL)

And Then There Were Three
It is with the greatest joy that I announce the birth of our daughter, Evangeline.
She's caught us a little off guard by arriving four weeks early (and on the day before we moved from one house to another), so our lives are a little upside-down right now. I'm hoping I can steal some time for a few posts, but I know that there's likely to be a lot less web time for me right now. So, thank you in advance for your patience and for your many good wishes!
