Love this! I will join you in your fight to defend Disney weddings! I too faced an insane amount of criticism (luckily not from family, who too knew us and our history), but I work in a customer service role and if I had a dollar for every time a customer asked me if I was dressing up as Minnie Mouse I could have paid for the whole freakin' wedding! I got so sick of having to defend my decision and was certainly able to shut them up when I showed them my fabulous Misty Miotto photos afterward!!
We should not be ashamed and people that can't see that a Disney wedding can be fun, sophisticated and stylish (or whatever you want it to be for that matter!) are the ones missing out on something truly fantastic!
keep up the wonderful blog and shout it from the rooftops at the next conference! :-)

Let me tell you, as a Graphic Designer in LA, design people are full of . . . . it. Everyone wants to be so jaded, and so cool, and so different, but in reality they're just looking for someone to latch on to.

Any good designer secretly loves Disney. They appreciate the attention to detail, the love, and the fact that no one does it better. People just feel the need to put others down to feel better about themselves, don't apologize for what you love.

It's AMAZING what people will form an opinion on w/o having any REAL knowledge. I've always taken the, "Don't knock it until you've tried it." Approach. Afterall, it's the #1 honeymoon destination IN THE WORLD!
